Mentor Log #3

In our class today we started off with learning more basic techniques. The main lesson today was learning how to glaze with water paint, which is stating with one color then layering over and over again. It was difficult the first time, but we practiced be painting parakeets  We also learned a lot about brush control, how to use the brush to get thick strokes or thin ones. one of my goals it to improve on my glazing skills! I think this was one of my favorite classes!

Mentor Log #2

In today's class we started off with practicing basics again. Then my my mentor taught us how to draw and paint a still life, which is inanimate objects. She taught us how to incorporate basic techniques into the art work. Then for the rest of the class time we practiced drawing still life by using bowls of fruit. It was actually really difficult to get the art work to look realistic, best time I see my mentor, I hope to improve drawing in details better

So todays class was pretty much introductions. We learned about some history about art. My mentor taught us basics about drawing and painting. We spent the next half of class practicing those basics and that was pretty much what we did today. Next time I see my mentor I hope I improve with my basic drawing techniques!
